St. Bernard Roman Catholic Mission Church
St. Bernard Roman Catholic church has been designated as a Provincial Historic site. This beautiful church was constructed by Bishop Emile Grouard and completed in 1902. St. Bernard is one of the three churches that Bishop Grouard built in the north and like the others, the St. Bernard Church portrays examples of his amazing artwork. Bishop Grouard's paintings can be seen gracing the wall behind the altar. Housed and displayed in the vestry is a historically relevant collection of early ecclesiastical objects that belong to the Oblate Fathers.

The St. Bernard Roman Catholic Mission Church tour is offered to museum visitors. An optional part of this tour is a visit to the cemetery below the church site where visitors have the opportunity to view the tombstones of the bishops, brothers and nuns who contributed to the sense of religious importance in the region. A striking feature of this cemetery is that the grave markers reflect the hierarchy within the church - the tombstones of the Sisters of Providence are the smallest and furthest away from those of the Bishops and the priests.
