Scholarships and Awards

We understand that funding your post-secondary education can be a challenge and through the generosity of many individuals, companies, and associations, we are proud to offer a number of financial awards. Awards may be given based on financial need, academic achievement, community involvement, leadership or extra-curricular activities. The award may be a combination of a scholarship, bursary or a prize. 

Are you wondering what the difference between a Scholarship, Bursary and Prize is?  Well, here are some basic definitions.

• Scholarship = is an award given in recognition of academic excellence or achievement
• Bursary = cash award which is based on financial need. There may be also be additional requirements such as community involvement or leadership; the criteria will outline what is required.
• Prize = an award based on specicific outstanding accomplishment or achievement. This award may be cash, a plaque, a book, a medal or a gift.
