Northern Metis CelebrationNorthern Metis Celebration takes place on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the Grouard Campus of Northern Lakes College
The 7th annual Northern Metis Celebration includes workshops, a traditional meal, dance and music performers and the ever-popular talent contests for all ages. The talent contest categories will feature singing, fiddling and jigging divisions and over $3000. in prize pay-outs will be split amongst the winners. Student Union Donations
The Northern Lakes College Students’ Union for Slave Lake has been working hard at fundraising this year. They recently contributed $500 to the Northern Haven Support Society. Last year, the previous Slave Lake Students' Union started the ball rolling to support the local women’s shelter and last week the group decided to repeat the gesture in 2010 with another donation to this worthwhile cause. Many of the NLC Students’ Unions throughout the service area have been contributing towards the horrific disaster in Haiti.
