Slave Lake, Alberta (December 15, 2020): Northern Lakes College is pleased to announce the successful recruitment of a new Vice-President, Academic. Dr. Faisal Arain is an experienced academic leader with an earned PhD and a postgraduate certificate in Leadership Development. He has extensive experience in management and leadership in both construction and academia in Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and Canada.
Dr. Arain led the development of Canada’s first Bachelor of Science in Construction Project Management at SAIT. He was appointed by the Saskatchewan Higher Education Quality Assurance Board as the Chair of the quality review panel for new program evaluations.
Dr. Arain has served as Chair at SAIT, and as Associate Dean of the School of Sustainable Building and Environmental Management at NAIT. Most
recently, Dr. Arain served as Senior Dean at Niagara College Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (NC KSA) campuses.
“I believe Faisal will be a great addition to our college and our Senior Leadership Team. He has the vision and experience to lead the Learner Services and Student Services departments. I welcome him and his family to the Northern Lakes College family,” comments President & CEO, Glenn Mitchell.
Dr. Arain has consulted, researched, and published widely with over 120 research publications, two book chapters, and 13 books to his credit. He also serves on editorial boards of several international research journals, is the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Construction Project Management, and is also an expert member of the World Association for Sustainable Development, UK. Dr. Arain will begin his new position in the year.
