Congratulations on your successful achievement! We wish to recognize your achievement by inviting you and your family to attend the 2019 Northern Lakes College Convocation in Slave Lake on September 13, 2019. This is a wonderful event where we gather to celebrate accomplishments, share our stories and to simply enjoy the moment with good friends and family.



Friday, September 13, 2019

·         Rehearsal to start at 1:00 PM (Mandatory for all Graduates)

·         Ceremony to start at 2:00 PM 


The Gathering Place

Gown Information:

Gowns and caps will be made available at the venue and can be picked up before the ceremony. Gowns must be returned at the venue after the ceremony. Gown pickup will start at 10:00 AM on September 13 at The Gathering Place.


Professional photos will be taken of each student during the ceremony as they walk the stage to receive acknowledgement of their achievement. These photos will be made available to everyone via jAlbum on NLC’s website by September 25. The link to the album will be shared on the College’s website as well as the Facebook page. Students will be required to sign a photo release form prior to the ceremony. Special arrangements can be made with students who do not want their photo shared on social media.

There will be other photo opportunities set up around the venue to take pictures with friends and family.

Professional portraits are available on September 13 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

There is a sitting fee of $30 (cash) – Please see “Portrait Information” on the NLC website under Current Students/2019 Convocation

Who may participate

in Convocation:

If you have successfully completed your program you may attend as a graduand. Please talk with your program adviser or campus instructor to confirm your completion status.

To Northern Lakes College Students:

As you are aware, as a result of the wildfire situation in our region, the 2018-19 Capping & Pinning and Convocation ceremonies have been rescheduled. 

For those students with questions about receipt of transcripts and NLC certificates & diplomas, please see the information outlined below:


  • Students will receive transcripts within two weeks of their final exams. 
  • When no final exam is provided, students will receive their transcripts within two weeks of the last day of classes for the term.
  • Statements of Marks for the term will be e-mailed to students’ Northern Lakes College addresses.
  • Paper transcripts will be mailed to students’ permanent addresses on file with the College.
  • Transcripts required for certification for employment for the Practical Nurse and Paramedic programs will be mailed directly to the respective provincial associations.


  • Students who have successfully completed their programs will have their parchments mailed to their permanent addresses on file with the College.
