How to get started with Northern Lakes College Dual Credit

School Divisions

Step 1: Sign a Dual Credit Agreement
Sign a Dual Credit Agreement with Northern Lakes College.

Step 2: Complete the onboarding Process
Once the agreement is signed, the school will be contacted to guide them through the onboarding process. This includes applying for the necessary PSI codes, identifying student support personnel, reviewing invoicing, and addressing other dual credit procedures.

Step 3: Assign Student Support
Designate a school support person(s) to assist students throughout the process. This person’s name will be included on all the application forms and will receive a login for Northern Lakes College Learning Management System to monitor student progress.

Step 4: Identify Eligible Students
Identify students who are eligible for the dual credit program.

Step 5: Verify Prerequisites and Corequisites
Ensure that students meet all prerequisites and corequisites for the courses.

Step 6: Submit Applications
Help students apply to Northern Lakes College using the application form.

Step 7: Support Dual Credit Students
Support dual credit students through every step of the process, from application and enrollment to course completion.

Step 8: Receive and Enter Final Grades
At the end of the term, the support person will receive final grades to be entered by the school

Parents and Students

Step 1: Consult Your School
Since Northern Lakes College has an agreement with the division and tuition and books may be covered through the school/division, the school must first determine the student’s eligibility as a dual credit student.

Step 2: Apply to Northern Lakes College
Work with your school to complete the application form for Northern Lakes College. Apply early as students are accepted on a first qualified, first served basis.

Step 3: Await Acceptance and Follow Instructions
Once accepted, the student will receive an official email with instructions on how to access their Northern Lakes College email, log in to their classes, obtain required textbooks, review course expectations and times they are offered, and other essential information. Be sure to regularly check the Learning Management System and your Northern Lakes College email for updates.
