NLC GED Offerings

The general educational development (GED) exams measure your skills and abilities in the following five areas:
Test 1: Language Arts – Writing Test (Part I and Part II)
Test 2: Social Studies
Test 3: Science
Test 4: Language Arts – Reading Test:
Test 5: Mathematics (Part I and Part II)

High Level: May 26-27
Fox Creek: June 16-17

Eligibility: In Alberta, those who are successful in all five GED tests will receive a High School Equivalency Diploma if they meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Are 18 years of age or older
  • Have been out of school for at least 10 consecutive months
  • Pass all five tests in the General Educational Development (GED) test battery, with a standard score of 450 or better for each test
  • Have an Alberta Student Number (contact 780-427-5318 regarding Alberta Student Numbers)

Cost of testing is $200

The re-write fee for any one test is $45

GED Preparation books are available for a cost of $21.25  

Registration and full payment of fees are required 2 weeks prior to the selected test date. There is the potential that testing may be cancelled due to low registration numbers, inclement weather or other extenuating circumstances, at which time the cost of registration will be refunded.
