Course Description

BEL 301 Science provides a good foundation for high school sciences. It provides a rigorous review of science concepts at the pre-high school level and introduces Grade 10 chemistry and physics concepts. Topics include the nature of light; mechanical systems; electrical principles; energy and motion; cells and systems; biological diversity; atoms and the nature of matter; acids and bases; and elements and compounds. Students will continue to develop their skills of inquiry and problem solving through hands-on activities and application of concepts to real life contexts. They will also develop positive attitudes toward the study of science and the application of science in responsible ways.
