Course Description

Many employees will experience some form of personal trouble in their lives. Often these problems will show up in the workplace and affect job performance, productivity, team morale and safety. This course will teach you how to recognize troubled employees and direct them to the appropriate resources for help.

• Learn about common personal problems
• Understand fitness for work
• Recognize employees with personal problems by focusing on job performance
• Use 5 key skills for intervening with troubled employees
• Manage and resolve performance problems
• Understand the importance of linking employees to sources of professional help
• Identify strategies to assist employees returning to the workplace and encourage long-term success

This course is part of the Essential Skills for Supervisors Certificate Program.
