Dharmen Dhaliah

Dharmen Dhaliah has over twenty-six years of working experience in the private and public sectors where he has held various positions in physical asset management, maintenance management, reliability engineering, and project management in a wide range of industries. He currently works for the Town of Halton Hills as Corporate Asset Manager. He is a registered Professional Mechanical Engineer, a Certified Asset Management Assessor, a Project Management Professional, a Maintenance Management Professional, and a Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional. Dharmen is a member of TC 251 for the ISO 55000 standards. He is on-line instructor of the Maintenance Management Program (MMP), the "Planification et gestion de la maintenance" (PGM) program, and the Asset Management Professional Certificate (AMPC) program. Dharmen Dhaliah has recently published his first book "Physical Asset Management - An Organizational Challenge",

This module focuses on maintenance efforts to ensure that physical assets safely, capably, reliably and repeatedly perform to their designed specifications. The focus is on techniques to develop maintenance tactics that will address how the assets are used, how they are likely to fail, the consequence of failure and identifying maintenance tactics that are both feasible and worth doing. After developing tactics the module will focus on how tactics need to be implemented and their effectiveness tracked.

 Understanding the "Operating Context"
 Defining Asset Function and Functional Failures
 Failure Mode and Effect Analysis, FMEA
 Understanding consequences and the application of the RCM Decision Diagram
 Maintenance task identification
 Planning maintenance tasks
 Implementing Preventive Maintenance
 Introducing Condition Based Monitoring (CBM) into the maintenance equation

Sessions are delivered LIVE ONLINE via internet conferencing - distance learning. Ten, 3 hour weekly evening sessions.

Module 1 recommended

Withdrawals and Refunds

 An administrative fee of $50 will be charged for all cancelled or transferred registrations.  There are no refunds for materials/shipping.  Less than 7 days before the module starts, a partial refund of 75% of the tuition fee is granted if the withdrawal of the registration is received: Module 1 - immediately after the 1st class. No refunds given after 1st class. Modules 2-8 - immediately after the 2nd class. No refunds given after 2nd class.


Northern Lakes College reserves the right to re-schedule or cancel a course that lacks sufficient registrations to provide a satisfactory learning atmosphere. In this event your registration fee will be refunded in full or applied to the re-scheduled course.
