Course Description

Learn to drive under the guidance of a professional instructor. Follow all the rules of the road and establish defensive driving habits to reduce collisions and insurance premiums.

In-class instruction includes topics of city, town, and highway driving; car care and insurance; adverse driving conditions; causes of collisions; driver psychology; defensive driving impaired driving and seat belts.

In-car training includes information and hands on training to successfully complete a road test. Topics include vehicle and driver preparation; turning left & right in all traffic situations; parking (on hills, when stalled, parallel) and a mock road test.

Course Fees do not include license or road tests costs which are payable to the registry office where students take the tests.

Important information about this course:
 You must be at least 14 years of age and carry a valid Class 7 license before starting the road training portion of the course.
 Driving time will be booked with the instructor and may require some driving time during the weekdays.
 Fees do not include license or road test costs which are payable to the Registry Office where you take the tests.

Withdrawals and Refunds

Safety and Driver Training Courses:  Your registration will be fully refunded when notice of withdrawal is given two (2) working days before the course start date.  When notification is received less than two (2) full working days before the course start date no refund will be issued.  If you are unable to attend your course, you may arrange for someone to take your place by contacting Continuing Education & Corporate Training at work@northernlakescollege.ca or 780-849-8623.

Cancellation

Northern Lakes College reserves the right to re-schedule or cancel a course that lacks sufficient registrations to provide a satisfactory learning atmosphere. In this event your registration fee will be refunded in full or applied to the re-scheduled course.

Fee Payment

Fee Payment: Fees are due at the time of registration. Northern Lakes College accepts cash, cheque, money order, debit, VISA, MasterCard, American Express. Invoicing to a company requires a Purchase Order (PO).
