Course Description

This course will appeal to forest workers at all education levels. The goal is to increase awareness of wildfire risk, with the aim of eliminating or reducing risk factors at the worksite and, more generally, in the woodlands. This course will introduce the concepts of wildfire risk, examine recent trends in wildfire risk, basic elements of wildfire behaviour and how it is measured, and FireSmart strategies to manage wildfire risk.

This course is one of ten courses in the Advanced Forest Stewardship Certificate and is delivered in partnership with Northern Lakes College and Woodland Operations Learning Foundation (WOLF https://www.w-o-l-f.ca/ )

Register for all 10 courses to complete the Advanced Forest Stewardship Certificate, or register for the individual courses that interest you.

In order to successfully complete this course, you must receive a minimum grade of 70% on any quizzes, and fulfill instructor determined participation requirements.
