Course Description

Communities are continuously searching for qualified individuals to fill the complex roles of water and wastewater treatment plant operators, water distribution system operators and wastewater collection system operators. Northern Lakes College (NLC) and ATAP Infrastructure Management Ltd. (ATAP) have partnered to deliver Water and Wastewater Operator Preparation Programs that will address critical demand for training in northern Alberta.

This training is designed to prepare existing operators to learn more about the roles and responsibilities of water and wastewater operators and to write the Provincial certification exam with Alberta Environment and Parks.

Students will become proficient in learning the support systems and technical aspects of water and wastewater treatment, and water distribution and wastewater collection.

Pre-requisites

Grade 10 reading level and grade 10 math level (basic algebra) is strongly recommended. Additional requirements must be met for certification, please refer to Alberta Environment and Parks for details.

Withdrawals and Refunds

An administrative fee of $50 will be charged for all cancelled or transferred registrations. Tuition will be fully refunded less the $50 administration fee when notice of withdrawal is given 14 days before the course start date. A partial refund of 75% of the tuition fee is granted if notice of withdrawal is received less than 14 days prior to the course start date and up to 14 days after the course start date.

Cancellation

Northern Lakes College reserves the right to re-schedule or cancel a course that lacks sufficient registrations to provide a satisfactory learning atmosphere. In this event your registration fee will be refunded in full or applied to the re-scheduled course.

Fee Payment

Fee Payment: Fees are due at the time of registration. Northern Lakes College accepts cash, cheque, money order, debit, VISA, MasterCard, American Express. Invoicing to a company requires a Purchase Order (PO).
