Nicholai Kristel is a Process Engineer, in the Regional Water Division in Edmonton. He has over 6 years of process design, water quality assessments, and consulting engineering experience. Nicholai primarily works on municipal water and wastewater projects, where he uses his experience to model and design biological and physical-chemical processes in the treatment of water. Prior to joining Associated Engineering, Nicholai completed a Bachelors of Science Degree in Microbiology and Immunology at McGill University. Subsequently, he spent 4 years working in water quality laboratories at various facilities in Northern Alberta. From this experience, he gained a strong understanding of industrial water and wastewater treatment processes, water quality parameters, and water testing procedures. Most recently, he presented papers on chloramination at the AWWA Annual Conference & Exposition and WCW AAWA Specialty Workshop.
Lindsay has over six years' experience developing and delivering training programs for Water/Wastewater Operators in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario. In this time, she has been responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating education and training initiatives, providing coaching and mentoring to instructors and presenters to ensure delivery of high quality learning experiences, and redeveloping traditionally face-to-face training and deliver to participants in an online environment. A main focus of her work has been expanding and creating access to training opportunities for Operators in rural and remote areas and across jurisdictions. She volunteers her time and advocates for Operator training and certification issues on different committees such as the Water North Coalition and Utilities Stakeholder Group in Alberta, and the Public Awareness Committee of Western Canada Water.
