This course introduces basic accounting tasks using the Canadian version of Sage 50 Desktop Accounting software. Students will begin with an introduction to Sage 50 and a review of the Chart of Accounts. Working with a fictitious data file, they will learn how to enter purchases, payments, sales and receipts transactions, record deposits, generate reports, deal with cash and credit transactions, work with general ledger accounts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll. This course includes some review of accounting fundamentals as students relate them to the transactions at hand.

You will need:
Access to the internet (preferably high speed)
A device (laptop/desktop computer or a tablet)
Speakers and a microphone (preferably a headset. If you do not have a microphone you are still able to participate and use the chat feature to send questions & comments. (Except for MMP - microphone is required).
Test your system 24 hours ahead of time (make sure you can log on using the link that will be emailed to you and do an audio check while online)
Feel free to print your materials and download your free copy of the software in advance using the instructions provided to your in you Moodle course. Your textbook will be mailed to you.
