Course Description

This 30 hr course (10 3hr sessions) is spent teaching you how to enter financial transactions (using the same accounting simulation as in Module 1) into a computerized accounting software program (Quickbooks). Time is also spent on looking at more detailed information on topics including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, GST/HST, Bank and Cash Accounts. Building on the understanding of the accounting cycle learned in Module 1, students are taught how to enter the data and manage the paperwork for all aspects of the finances of a small business or organization.

This course will help prepare you to gain certification through the Institute of Professional Bookkeepers of Canada (IPBC). For more information on how to qualify for certification go to http://www.ipbc.ca/

Pre-requisite for Module 2 is: BU351 Certified Professional Bookkeeper Preparation Program, Module 1 - Introduction to Accounting/Financial Statements

This program consists of training that is designed to enhance the knowledge of people presently employed in a bookkeeping or finance position, or interested in pursuing a career in a bookkeeping position. The program includes comprehensive information for bookkeepers/finance clerks and will help prepare them to take certification exams in order to obtain designation as a Certified Professional Bookkeeper.

**Note: Students are not required to be working towards certification in order to take this course, nor is it a requirement for students to take this course prior to writing any certification exam.

Withdrawals and Refunds

Certificate Program Courses:  Your registration will be fully refunded when notice of withdrawal is given seven (7) days before the course start date.  Less than seven (7) days before the course start date, no refund will be issued.  When you are unable to attend your course, you may arrange for someone to take your place by contacting Continuing Education & Corporate Training at work@northernlakescollege.ca or 780-849-8623.

Cancellation

Northern Lakes College reserves the right to re-schedule or cancel a course that lacks sufficient registrations to provide a satisfactory learning atmosphere. In this event your registration fee will be refunded in full or applied to the re-scheduled course.

Fee Payment

Fee Payment: Fees are due at the time of registration. Northern Lakes College accepts cash, cheque, money order, debit, VISA, MasterCard, American Express. Invoicing to a company requires a Purchase Order (PO).
