Course Description

With the arrival of fall, many birds of the boreal forest will soon be migrating south. But did you know that our winters can be a wonderful time for birding? Join the staff of the Lesser Slave Lake Bird Observatory as they share some tips on making the most of your winter birding adventures. Learn to identify over 25 different species of resident birds that call our winter forests home. Discover why these boreal birds don't migrate, how they survive the cold temperatures as well as some ways that you can help these winter birds in your own backyard.

This course is being delivered in partnership with the Lesser Slave Lake Bird Observatory (LSLBO) and the Boreal Centre for Bird Conservation: http://www.borealbirdcentre.ca/

The Boreal Centre for Bird Conservation (BCBC) is a unique education and research centre nestled right in beautiful Lesser Slave Lake Provincial Park.
