Air brakes work by initiating air pressure at an engine-driven compressor and transmitting the pressure through hoses, reservoirs and control valves to the vehicle's foundation brakes.
The Air Brakes Q Endorsement course provided at Northern Lakes College includes a classroom session and then practical training. Class 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 drivers must complete an approved air brake course to get a Q Endorsement on their driver's license to operate a vehicle equipped with air brakes.
**Note** This course is not the complete MELT certification. However, proof of successful completion of Air Brakes Q Endorsement course and Class 1 MELT Truck Driver Training are required when booking your driving exam. Withdrawals and Refunds
Tuition will be fully refunded when notice of withdrawal is given 7 days before the course start date. When notification is received less than 7 days before the course start date there is no refund. There are no refunds for materials/shipping.

Fees are due at the time of registration. Northern Lakes College accepts cash, cheque, money order, debit, VISA, MasterCard, American Express. Invoicing to a company requires a Purchase Order (PO).
