Once you have your lesson plans, you will need to develop the supporting learning materials, which may include lecture notes, slide presentations, handouts, guides, questions, etc. In this course you will plan and develop these materials and questions that promote the level of learning specified in the learning objectives. You will then practice delivering your lessons, using active learning strategies and effective questioning techniques. You will also become proficient in using technology in the classroom, and selecting classroom layouts that are most appropriate to the learning situations. These practice teaching sessions will follow the Instructional Skills Workshop (ISW) structure and mini-lesson cycle where you will teach short lessons and also give and receive constructive feedback with your fellow classmates. Through this mini-lesson cycle you will have the opportunity to test and refine your teaching strategies in a supportive environment.
