Have you always enjoyed working with tools? Consider a career as a carpenter, a field that is in high demand. This hands-on program will give you the skills and theory you need to succeed when you write the Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training theory and practical exams.

Academic Requirements
Minimum Requirement: English 10-2, Math 10-3 or all five Canadian General Educational Development Tests (GED) or AIT Entrance Exam.
Category A: RECOMMENDED PATH: Alberta High School Diploma with:
English 30-2.
Math 30-3.
Physics 20 or Chemistry 20 or Biology 20 or Science 20.
Related Career and Technology Studies courses.
Attendance and participation in "Introduction to Construction Trades."

Other Requirements
If academic requirements are not met you will need to do an ACCUPLACER assessment. Minimum levels: 60 in Reading Comp., 50 in Arithmetic, and 50 in Elementary Algebra. Contact your nearest campus to schedule an appointment. Pre-Employment students are NOT required to be registered with AIT.
