Program Description

This program prepares students to write the Alberta Boiler Safety Association (ABSA) 4th Class Power Engineer's Certification of Competency examinations. Power Engineering is an ABSA-accredited certification governing the operation and maintenance of boilers and associated equipment in heating plants and other industrial settings.

Academic Requirements

 Math 10C or equivalent
 Successful completion of or currently enrolled in English 20-2 or equivalent.



Other Requirements

 Valid 5th Class Power Engineering Certificate of Competency.

 Employers typically require employees to have a High School Diploma or a General Educational Development diploma (GED).
