Program Description

Power Engineering 4th Class is an Alberta certification by which the operation and maintenance of boilers and associated equipment in heating plants and other industrial settings are governed. This program is delivered completely online, supported by recorded lectures, supplemental information, quizzes, assignments, tutoring as required, optional tours, and lab days if needed. Individuals must complete the Part A and Part B courses in order to be eligible to write the corresponding Alberta Boiler Safety Association (ABSA) certification exams. Note that there is also a firing time requirement for 4th Class Power Engineer certification, which may either be accomplished at an approved power/steam facility or through attending an approved Power Lab. This program is delivered with flexible offerings. Students can take the courses in any order and may start each course in whichever offerings they choose.
