Criteria: For full-time and part-time students, must be in good academic standing. There are two separate awards: 1) single parents, 2) Aboriginal students.

Criteria: Full-time student, good attendance, financial need, faced adversity and/or have overcome obstacles to be successful in education.

Criteria: In good academic standing, full-time student and identified financial need. Must be a resident of Bigstone Cree Nation.

Faculty Association Student Award

Criteria: Must be in good academic standing with financial need.

Students' Association - Role Model Scholarship

Award: $1,000 (2)

Criteria: Financial need, contribution to student activities, role model to other students. (Students’ Association members: 1 -Academic Upgrading, 1 - Post-Secondary)

Christopher Taylor - Award of Excellence

Award: $1000 (2)

Student who exemplifies the following criteria: 3.7 GPA overall; embodies characteristics of professionalism, including responsibility, reliability, mentorship, advocacy, and initiative; and contributes to overall societal well-being.

1 - Primary Care Paramedic student  1 - 2nd Year Advanced Care Paramedic student

Community Spirit Bursary

Criteria: First in immediate family to attend first year of post-secondary training.

Dianne Garratt Bursary

Criteria: Slave Lake Campus student, continuing to 2nd year of post-secondary training, contribution to community/volunteerism.

Dr. Gary McPherson Award (Nomination to Scholarships Program)

Award: $2,000

Criteria: Leadership skills, preferably in the area of disability, and commitment to improving living conditions. (2 yr programs)

Gill Lacoste Scholarship

Award: $500

Criteria: Registered in a Trade or Resource program, academic achievement, financial need, hardworking - must submit essay outlining how criteria is met. References also required.

Governor General’s Collegiate Medallion

Award: Medallion

Criteria: Highest Academic Standing. (2 yr programs)

Application Deadline: No application - selection made June 1st

Indigenous Career Awards

Award: $2,000/term

Criteria: First Nation, Metis or Inuit (status or non-status), Canadian citizen, resident of Alberta, full-time in an eligible program and satisfactory academic standing. (1 yr & 2 yr programs)

Application Deadline: Fall - October 26 - Winter - January 11

Jason Lang Post-Secondary Scholarship (Nomination to Scholarships Program)

Jesse Roberts Award

Nelson Lutz Bursary

Criteria: Indigenous Male full-time student. Must be resident of NLC region and transferring residence to a new community to enter the program. Must provide proof of previous and new residence. (University Studies or Diploma programs)

Peace Regional Outreach Centre Award

Criteria: Must have been a Peace Regional Outreach Student in the last three years. Full-time or part-time students. Identified financial need. (Peace River Campus only)

Renaissance Bursary

Criteria: Full-time student. Clinical/Practicum placement must be outside of student's home community. In good academic standing. Identified financial need. Health and Human Services programs only.

Roland Gladue Memorial Scholarship

Criteria: Academic Achievement, planning to continue studies in Post-Secondary or Careers in Fall.

Rotary Club of Slave Lake Student Bursary

Criteria: Enrolled in two or more courses at the Slave Lake Campus. Demonstrate contributions to the community through volunteerism, active participation in their community, and has demonstrated an enthusiasm to succeed through lifelong learning.

Criteria: Awards to recognize: Students’ Association, Student Leadership, Outstanding Academic Upgrading.

Awards: Dual Credit

Dual Credit Bursary

Award: $500

Criteria: Completion of Dual Credit courses, registered to attend NLC withtin one year of graduation.

Application Deadline: No application required- Credit applied to tuition

Peace Region Power Engineering Association - High School Dual Credit Power Engineering 4th Class Award

Award: $1,000

Criteria: High School student who successfully completed the NLC Power Engineering 4th Class program. Student must be from Peace River or within a 100 Kilometer radius. Achieved an overall average of 70%. submit an essay (minimum 500 words) outlining why they have chosen the field and their career goals. Student must be willing to participate in a short telephone interview with the Selection Committee if needed. 

Application Deadline: Student will be selected by the NLC Selection Committee based on the criteria outlined above. 

Peace Region Power Engineering Association - Water and Wastewater Operator Preparation Programs Award

Award: $1,000

Criteria: Student must be from Peace River or within a 100 kilometer radius. Student with highest GPA. Students completing the program in the academic year will be eligible and must be a full-time or part-time student.

Awards: Trades & Resource Technology

Peace Region Power Engineering Association - Oilfield Operator Training Award

Award: $1,000

Criteria: Student must be enrolled as a full-time or part-time student from Peace River or within a 100 kilometer radius. Student with the highest GPA. Students completing the program in the academic year will be eligible.

Application Deadline: No application required- Credit applied to tuition.

Peace Region Power Engineering Association - Power Engineering Steam Lab Certification 4th Class Award

Award: $1,000

Criteria: Recipient must have successfully completed NLC Power Engineering 4th Class and meet the academic entrance requirements for the Power Engineering 4th Class Lab Certification. Student with the highest GPA of the program, from Peace River or within a 100 Kilometer radius. Must be a full-time or part-time student. Student completing the program in the academic year will be eligible.

Reg Carr Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000

Criteria: Enrolled in 4th Period Electrician program. High GPA. Professionalism and ability to consistently produce a high quality of work. Fourth Period Electrician program only.
