Course Description

BEL 303 Math is a preparatory course for students going into Math 10C. Students will gain understanding and appreciation of the contributions of mathematics as a science, philosophy, and art. They will engage and persevere in mathematical tasks and projects. Students will learn to transfer math skills in successful problem-solving. The main goal is to become mathematically literate adults who use mathematics to contribute to society. Students will reinforce number sense through a review of mental math concepts and computation. They will develop their skills in operations and number concepts. Students will apply essentials skills to a study of real number concepts, exponential and scientific notation, equations and inequations, polynomials, measurement, geometry, and data management.
