Course Description

Maintenance Work Management forms the foundation to a maintenance department's ability to effectively add value to an organization and its customers. Effective maintenance work management ensures that the right things are done at the right time using the right resources and the right tools to assist an organization in its aims to deliver value reliably.

This module provides a study of the fundamentals of the work management processes, looking at the key steps in the process and providing a more detailed overview of the basics of planning, scheduling and work coordination methods. Upon completion of this module, participants will have a sound understanding of the maintenance work management process, the interaction between steps in the process, practices and tools available to support the process, and how to apply them to effectively transition from reactive to proactive maintenance management. Key learning elements include effective use of resources, aligning maintenance activities with production or service schedules, developing and documenting maintenance strategies and integrating proactive maintenance tactics.

Sessions are delivered LIVE ONLINE via internet conferencing - distance learning. Ten, 3 hour weekly evening sessions.

Course materials include a textbook and a participant workbook. The participant workbook is available in Moodle (the Learning Management System used for this course) as a pdf that you can download. Access to your course in Moodle is available 14 days before the course start date.

This module has the option for a physical textbook version OR an e-version. When registering, you can choose the option you wish. If you choose the e-version, your e-book order will be submitted to PEMAC Asset Management Association of Canada for processing. Directions for downloading the e-book, and the unique redemption code, will be forwarded to you by PEMAC within three business days.

Withdrawals and Refunds

An administrative fee of $50 will be charged for all cancelled or transferred registrations. Tuition will be fully refunded less the $50 administration fee when notice of withdrawal is given 14 days before the course start date. A partial refund of 75% of the tuition fee is granted if notice of withdrawal is received less than 14 days prior to the course start date and up to 14 days after the course start date. Fees paid for materials and shipping are non-refundable.

Cancellation

Northern Lakes College reserves the right to re-schedule or cancel a course that lacks sufficient registrations to provide a satisfactory learning atmosphere. In this event your registration fee will be refunded in full or applied to the re-scheduled course.

Fee Payment: Fees are due at the time of registration. Northern Lakes College accepts cash, cheque, money order, debit, VISA, MasterCard, American Express. Invoicing to a company requires a Purchase Order (PO).
