Intermediate Practicum (Ambulance)

Course Description

The Intermediate Ambulance Practicum provides the opportunity for students to improve their basic patient assessment and management skills while applying newly-learned concepts and skills obtained in Terms 1 and 2, including obtaining and interpreting 12 lead ECGs and pharmacological application when required. Students will provide safe quality care within their scope of practice appropriate for the intermediate level paramedic while being directly supervised by an experienced paramedic. Students will follow their preceptor's assigned rotation for a minimum of 320 hours. Students should prepare for travel for Intermediate Ambulance practicum. All costs and arrangements related to travel and accommodation for program practicums are the students's responsibility.
