Math and Science in Early Childhood Settings

Course Description

During the early childhood years, children learn about many concepts such as size, shape, colour and space. The ability to solve problems, experiment and organize objects into sets helps the growing mind make better sense of the world around them. Students will learn to design a developmentally appropriate curriculum to facilitate the young child's construction of knowledge in these areas. This course will address topics such as concept development, applying fundamental concepts, investigations in primary science and setting up the math and science environment.
