Course Description

In this course we will examine language process, general language issues, theoretical perspectives and the contextualization of language development throughout the foundational period in a child's life; birth to five years old. Our discussions will include specific areas such as phonological, semantic, syntactic, morphemic and pragmatic progress. Upon addressing the issues linked to language development and analyzing various theoretical perspectives, students will be able to apply these issues and perspectives in their own practice and develop an environment where language is enhanced.
