Course Description

This course examines the special legal and constitutional principles, provisions and instruments that have an impact on Indigenous individuals, governments and organizations. Topics covered may include aboriginal rights, treaty rights, self-government, fiduciary duties, the Royal Proclamation of 1763, the Indian Act, the 1982 Constitution, and pivotal court decisions, as well as contemporary Indigenous policy directions within the federal government.
