Course Description

This course will provide students with an academic introduction to normative and descriptive ethical frameworks in relation to major world religions. The course will discuss and analyze the question: What does it mean to be a morally serious person? Students will learn how religious traditions address important moral and ethical issues by examining meta-ethical theories, analyzing particular moral controversies, and applying theoretical knowledge using case studies and thought experiments.
