“Northern Lakes College is excited about the partnership with the Town of Hinton, and welcomes the opportunity to provide post-secondary programming to the community. NLC seeks to provide the most accessible community-based learning opportunities and endeavours to find collaborative ways to support the provincial goal of increased participation in post-secondary education,” comments Northern Lakes College President & CEO, Glenn Mitchell.

“It’s extremely exciting to see partnerships that are adapting to the delivery of post-secondary education. This will give students a chance to gain essential skills while staying in Hinton,” comments Marcel Michaels, Mayor of the Town of Hinton.

“In expanding their program offerings to the Town of Hinton, Northern Lakes College is creating more learning opportunities for the region; this will allow more students to get their post-secondary education closer to home, while fostering local job creation and economic growth at the same time,” says Martin Long, MLA West Yellowhead.

Northern Lakes College is committed to enhancing access to post-secondary education in rural Alberta. With accessibility as a cornerstone value, the College provides flexible and quality educational programs and services that allow learners to balance work, home, and education. About the Town of Hinton
Hinton has always been for explorers. From our region’s mapping by David Thompson in 1810, through the fur traders, miners, loggers, and adventurers who’ve settled since, this has been a place where those willing to strive to see, do, and experience more feel at home. Respectful of our past, creating our future, Hinton is a community of opportunity – as an active, culturally rich, safe environment in which to learn and grow.
