Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Education Degree
- Three years proven experience with inclusive education
- Experience interpreting psychoeducational assessments and medical assessments in an educational environment
- Either the ability to administer, or willingness to pursue certification to administer, educational assessments, such as the Woodcock Johnson IV Tests of Achievement: Standard and Extended Batteries.
- Class five driver's license
- A combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Suggested Additional Qualifications
- Master’s Degree or Specialized Bachelor Degree in Education with a specialization in Counselling Psychology, Special Education, Education, or a related field.
Successful candidate must provide a Criminal Record Check and College or University transcripts to Human Resources prior to commencement.

Position Description
Coordinator, Accessibility Services
Nature and Scope of Work
Purpose: Reporting to the Chair, Student Success, the Coordinator, Accessibility Services is responsible for delivering learner accessibility services for both on-campus and distance students and applicants, including coordinating the provision of learner accommodations and facilitating use of assistive technologies in the learning environment. A student-focused approach to learner accessibility services delivery is essential, as well as an ability to work effectively in a team environment, contributing to positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Professional Responsibilities
- Ensure the delivery of learner accessibility services is compliant with the Alberta Human Rights Commission Duty to Accommodate, College policies, procedures and regulations, as well as the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPP) and all other legislation, regulations and policies related to learner accessibility services.
- Deliver on-campus and distance learner accessibility services, including:
- Reviewing and interpreting testing data from educational or clinical assessments.
- Administering educational assessments, documenting assessment results, conclusions, and recommendations for interim academic accommodations.
- Supporting faculty to ensure implementation of academic accommodations.
- Providing assistive technologies and accommodation supports within the learning environment as required by medical/clinician documentation.
- Assisting faculty and Student Services staff to recognize and identify students who may have learning difficulties.
- Expertly maintain accessibility case files, including accurate, concise, timely, and goal-focused case management notes.
- Report on quantitative and qualitative surveys related to support of learners with disabilities and their accommodations.
- Facilitate workshops for students and faculty on topics related to student learning support, accommodations in the classroom, and universal design for learning.
- Participate in staff training and student orientations as required.
- Participate in the development and implementation of College policies, procedures and/or regulations, as they pertain to students with disabilities and accommodation needs.
- Develop new, and enhance existing relationships with external partners to benefit and grow the College. Contribute to a culture of growth and development within the Student Success team to support continuous improvement in the delivery of learner accessibility services.
- Identify trends and best practices in learner accessibility services.
- Identify opportunities for improved delivery of learner accessibility services to on-campus and supported distance students.
- Implement effective communication strategies for students regarding learner accessibility services that ensures shared information is accurate, accessible and timely.
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with other College departments, including academic programs.
