Instructors, Early Learning and Child Care
Salary: $63,012 to $102,456 per year
Location: Slave Lake

Qualifications:
- A graduate degree in education is required. Applicants within a year of completion of a graduate degree in combination with experience in the field may be considered;
- Several years’ work experience in an early learning and childcare setting;
- Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite;
- Excellent communication and organizational skills;
- Class 5 driver’s license;
- Criminal record check vulnerable sector;
- A combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Nature and Scope of Work
The Early Learning and Child Care department is seeking a dynamic and experienced instructor to join our growing team! This position reports to the Dean, Health, Human Services & University Studies and is responsible for planning, preparation and delivery of instruction and the evaluation of learning to adult learners primarily in the Early Learning and Child Care programs. Teaching in other programs such as Educational Assistant and University Studies may be required. The position requires coordination with learners, other instructors, counselors, practicum supervisors and administration to facilitate learner success. Travel to various campuses and practicum agencies is required.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Planning and preparing for instruction.
- Delivery of Must address various learning styles and needs.
- Courses will be during the day and/or evening.
- Courses will be delivered online using Bongo and Brightspace.
- Management and supervision of student practicums is required.
- Evaluation and reporting of student learning.
- Conduct performance reviews with individual students and performance management, as necessary.
- Performance of administrative tasks.
- Assist in the recruitment and enrolment of students.
- Track student attendance.
- Submit interim and year end reports.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of student information.
- Submit enrolment information and marks in a timely manner.
- Assist students in finding employment, when possible.
- Liaison with industry to ensure program meets industry’s needs.
- Work collaboratively with other departments within the College to facilitate learner success.
Assets
- Post-Secondary teaching experience
- Experience using distance education technologies, e. Bongo, Brightspace, etc.
- Experience working in diverse learning environments.
Successful candidate must provide college or university transcripts and criminal record check to Human Resources prior to commencement.
This position is covered under the Collective Agreement between Northern Lakes College and the Faculty Association of Northern Lakes College.
