Course Description

The overall health of the economy is the prime focus of this course. Gross domestic product, unemployment rates, inflation rates, interest rates, the balance of payments, and exchange rates, and the money supply as measure of economic health are studied. This knowledge provides a framework for analyzing government monetary and fiscal policies. International economic issues including free trade and foreign investment are also examined. Whenever appropriate, applications to current events are introduced.
