Course Description
Developing a positive learning environment is fundamental to your success as an instructor and to the success of your learners. In this course you will identify strategies to create and maintain an inclusive classroom climate, as well as to maintain and reinforce rapport throughout the learning situation. Teaching strategies will be examined in order to apply those which accommodate varying learner preferences and strengths. You will also begin to develop your teaching philosophy and apply a reflective process with your teaching experience in order to become a reflective practitioner. This will help you to set goals for your future development as a college instructor. Finally, you will develop an understanding of your role as an instructor, the role of student evaluation of instruction in gaining insights into expectations of learning, and strategies for dealing effectively with student issues.
