Add to cartForest management operations are conducted to maintain a sustainable balance between the ecological, social, and economic goods and services over a 200-year planning horizon. This work is completed through third party audited planning and work processes or Certification, through self-imposed Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and through a wide range of government regulation and legislation. There can be little doubt of the success of these systems to protect economic, social and environmental outcomes, though individuals still have the right to dispute these outcomes publicly. This course provides an overview of Certification, EMS and Legislation and Regulation in use today.
This course is one of ten courses in the Advanced Forest Stewardship Certificate and is delivered in partnership with Northern Lakes College and Woodland Operations Learning Foundation (WOLF https://www.w-o-l-f.ca/ )
