Course Description

This nursing foundations course applies concepts of the nursing metaparadigm, self care, and the nursing process in providing safe nursing care. The learner will develop nursing care plans and learn to prioritize nursing care using time management skills. The course examines strategies for communicating essential client information to members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team in simulated clinical settings. A laboratory component is included in which learners apply theory and practice nursing skills related to activities of daily living and medication administration. This course was formerly known as NFDN 1002.
