Foundational Learning Assistance

Step 1 Apply for Academic Upgrading here. There is no application fee* for Academic Upgrading at NLC!

Step 2 You will receive information by email from Northern Lakes College acknowledging that your application has been received.  Check e-mail regularly for messages from Northern Lakes College.

Step 3 Northern Lakes College will contact you to discuss your Completion Plan after you are accepted to the Academic Upgrading program. This is your opportunity to indicate that you would like to apply for funding.

Step 4 Foundational Learning Assistance: Northern Lakes College will enter as many names as possible into the Foundational Learning Assistance student enrollment system. Foundational Learning Assistance will send the application link to the email address used to apply to Northern Lakes College. If you require assistance, please contact your local campus. Note: The Foundational Learning Assistance funding link is only issued after step 2 and 3 above are completed and depending on availability of funding.

Note: You must have a verified Alberta.ca account to access the online funding application. If you do not have a verified Alberta.ca account, click here to start the process. This process can take up to 10-20 days.

Complete all the questions and submit your application for funding. Foundational Learning Assistance will notify you of the status of your application within 3 to 5 business days.
