Program Delivery

The delivery method is anytime, anywhere, and paced. You may register in 1-4 courses in the fall or winter terms; three or more courses are considered full-time status in the fall and winter terms. During the spring, taking two courses is considered full-time. You may also complete all courses over 3 terms. This program is delivered online using the learning management system, Brightspace D2L.

To learn more about D2L/Brightspace, check out this guide: https://www.northernlakescollege.ca/public/download/files/101449

Since you will be learning online, you will need to access to a computer, Internet, a calculator if taking MATH0190, and the textbook(s) or resource(s) assigned to each course. You may also access technology if they live close to any of the NLC campuses.

For more information about textbooks and additional resources, you can contact the program coordinator (uscoordinator@northernlakescollege.ca) to access the CACP Student Handbook.

• For Biology 0190 (BIOL0190): Science 10 or Science 24
• For Computers 0190 (COMP0190): None
• For English 0190 (ENGL0190): English 10-1 or English 10-2
• For Math 0190 (MATH0190): Any Grade 10 Math except Math 10-4.

Equivalent courses may also be considered.

If stated entrance requirements are not met, applicants may be offered an ACCUPLACER assessment to determine equivalent levels for acceptance on a case by case basis.

The College and Career Preparation courses are not transferable but rather upgrade the knowledge and skills of students who would like to meet the prerequisites to enroll in NLC programs, such as Health Careers, Human Service Careers, University Studies, and other programs.
